July 27, 2006 -Cheyenne, WY... Wine lovers should plan to attend the Cheyenne Depot Wine Festival, August 17 20, 2006 to enjoy an array a fine wines and foods. Partake in all of the elegant festivities or choose from any of the special occasions.
Beginning Thursday, August 17 at 6:30 p.m., a Five Course Chateau Ste. Michelle Wine Dinner at the historic Plains Hotel will feature fine cuisine prepared by Chef John Kulon accompanied by complementing wines. Chef Kulon says, "The Chateau Ste. Michelle winery has been producing acclaimed Washington wines since 1934." $75 per person plus tax and gratuity.
Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., explore the Cheyenne Depot in search of hidden wine along with live and silent auction items at the Vintage & Vine Reception. Enjoy savory appetizers, unique wines, and beautiful artwork. This event is $35 per person.
On Saturday attend "Wine 101", "Advanced Wine", and "Dessert and After Dinner Wines", an educational lecture series on the basics of wine, which will be presented at The Plains Hotel at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Each lecture includes vendor demonstrations by area wine representatives and tastings. $25 per lecture or choose a package deal. A) $40 for one person for two lectures; B) $75 for two people for two lectures each; C) $100 for two people and three lectures each.
The Wine & Dine Trolley Tour, Saturday at 3:00 p.m. begins in the Cheyenne Depot Lobby. Visit local museums and sample wines paired with fine specialty cheeses and food. $100 per person.
The event finale is a champagne/wine brunch at The Plains Hotel on Sunday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. $25 per person.
The Plains Hotel offers special festival packages starting at $319 per couple which includes the trolley tour, brunch and one night; $359 per couple for the reception, trolley tour and two night stay; and $499 per couple will include all events and three night stay.
