The Historic Plains Hotel Offers Romantic Setting for Weddings
Elegant decor, award-winning cuisine and professional catering staff enhance celebrations
2006, Cheyenne, Wyoming … The historic Plains Hotel has long been known for its stylish hospitality, serving as the center of social and civic life in Cheyenne since 1911. Today, it’s elegant High Plains décor, enriched with the colors, textures, and natural materials of the Wyoming Plains, provides a unique and romantic setting for weddings and receptions.
The Plains has more than 9,000 square feet of mingling space with six flexible banquet rooms and a complete range of audio visual equipment. From plated receptions to themed buffets, the executive chef and his staff prepare award-winning cuisine featuring the finest, fresh, local ingredients, including high-quality, naturally tender, Wyoming beef products. They can design custom menus to suit a wide range of tastes and budgets.
The professional catering and banquet staff attend to every detail and offer all-inclusive service, individualized planning, customized décor, artistic food presentation and professional wedding reception coordination. Hosted or cash bars featuring an extensive selection of wine, imported and domestic beer, champagne, and mixed drinks are available.
Accommodations for the bride and groom, wedding party and guests celebrate the rich legacy of the American frontier, while offering a glimpse into the spirit of the West. Located in the heart of downtown Cheyenne, Wyo., the Plains Hotel completed a multi-million dollar renovation in 2003. Western artwork, photography and artifacts blend with stained glass, custom-designed furniture and bed coverings to create a cowboy high-style atmosphere.
The hotel features 131 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, with a fitness center and full-service business center, and amenities such as oversized desks, 27” televisions, and thick, terry cloth towels. Thirty luxurious parlor and two-room suites also offer living rooms with sofa beds, spacious closets, wireless high-speed internet access, plush, cotton bathrobes, and more. The spacious King Presidential Suite just what the couple of honor deserves includes a wet bar, two bathrooms, whirlpool tub, walk-in shower, refrigerator, microwave and dining table that seats six. Two on-site restaurants provide convenient dining options in the hotel’s charming, historic atmosphere.
The Adora Day Spa at the Plains offers traditional spa services in a luxurious setting to help the bride and groom relax and prepare for their special day with packages that include facials, massage therapy, spa body treatments, manicures, pedicures, and more. Brides can enjoy professional bridal makeup by aestheticians trained to help them look their best in photos, with a trial application included. Grooms deserve to be pampered, too. They’ll enjoy the specially designed package that helps smooth that rough cowboy exterior with a soothing pedicure, a men’s facial and his choice of a 50-minute Swedish or deep tissue neuromuscular massage.
The Plains also offers an “I Do” wedding and renewal of vows package every year around Valentine’s Day. Ceremonies are performed by a non-denominational officiate. The packages include credits to dine at the hotel’s Capitol Grille, wedding cake, champagne and a deluxe king room.
